Kendra G

Age: "No hablo Ingles."

Neighborhood: "The entire tristate area where my voice is heard."

Job: Radio personality

Station: 100.3 The Beat (WPHI-FM)

Listen to her: 6 p.m.-midnight, Monday through Thursday.

What you see isn't always what you get: "When I'm not Kendra G., I'm very shy."

Real men only, please: "Being in my world, I'm around a lot of fake people. To me, I understand that for TV, you have to be a certain way. But for real life, you have to be a real person. The thing that turns me on the most is someone who is confident, ambitious, God-fearing - and being attractive doesn't hurt."

Passing on wisdom: Started a program to encourage her teen listeners to take her "Abstinence is Kool" pledge. She took the pledge along with the girls who signed up for the yearlong program.

What she told Essence magazine: "I just want us to go back to the time when it was cool to have a husband instead of a baby daddy."

Celibate no more: "I didn't necessarily fall off the wagon, because [the pledge] was for the year."

Speaking from experience: "When I was their age, I didn't want to have sex. It was perceived that I was uncool, or I was an alien. I wanted the girls to know abstinence is cool. I wanted to change their perception. Because I didn't like the way I was made to feel when I was their age."

On Philly men: "I think people have the wrong concept of me. A lot of men in Philadelphia don't really approach me. I don't like the cocky-type guy, and that's the kind of guy who usually approaches me ... I would date a teacher, a lawyer. Just regular people. I wish more regular guys would approach me. I'm down-to-earth ... My [ex-] fiancé was a regular person. He was an engineer. But he also knew me before the radio career. Now everybody who meets me knows me as Kendra G. I don't like that. Just call me Kendra."
