MAYS LANDING, N.J. - The husband of a woman who was shot and killed in the driveway of her Egg Harbor Township home last year and two other people have been arrested in connection with her death, authorities said.

Gerardina Garcia, 43, was shot four times on April 20, 2006, but managed to call 911 and hand the phone to her 8-year-old son in the back seat before she died.

Yesterday's arrests follow an 18-month investigation, according to a news release from Atlantic County Prosecutor Theodore F.L. Housel.

Fabio Garcia, who is Gerardina's husband, and Ricky Irizarry of Queens and Schenectady, N.Y., were each charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder for hire, authorities said, with their bails set at $1.5 million and $1 million, respectively.
