EWING, N.J. - A pickup truck traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 95 collided with a minivan last night, killing four people and injuring at least four others, New Jersey State Police said.

The accident occurred just before 8 p.m., said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a State Police spokesman.

Authorities initially received a call that a vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, Jones said, then got another call soon after reporting the accident.

The driver of the truck, who was alone, was killed, as were the van driver and two passengers, police said.

All northbound lanes and one southbound lane were shut down in the area of the crash, near the Scudder Falls Bridge, which links New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and were reopened just before 11:30 p.m., Jones said. *
