One wounded in mall shooting

WHEATON, Md. - Montgomery County police say that one person has been shot outside a Macy's department store at a suburban Washington shopping mall. A second person was hit by glass.

Police spokeswoman Blanca Kling says that the person was shot during an altercation outside Westfield Mall about 5 p.m. yesterday. Montgomery County police Lt. Paul Starks said that the gunman then entered Macy's and shot at a police officer.

Neither the officer nor shoppers were believed to have been hurt. *
