Teacher guilty in rape of student, 14

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A 30-year-old Buffalo teacher faces a prison term of two to five years after she pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old student.

Cara Dickey, a mother of three, was a teacher at South Buffalo Charter School, where the boy was her student. Although the sexual encounters were not forced, the boy is too young under state law to have consensual sex.

Dickey was arrested after she and the boy went missing for a day last June. Police found both of them the next morning, the boy in a suburban mall and Dickey sleeping in her vehicle elsewhere.
