Pa. Marine dies in Iraq

RALEIGH, N.C. - Military officials say that a North Carolina-based Marine whose home is in Lancaster County, Pa., has died in Iraq.

The Department of Defense announced the death of 22-year-old Lance Cpl. Robert D. Ulmer, of Landisville, Pa. Officials said that he died June 5 as a result of a non-hostile incident in Anbar province.

Ulmer was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune.

The incident is under investigation. *
