Christie suspends layoffs of NJN employees

TRENTON - Gov. Christie has suspended planned layoffs of New Jersey Network employees so NJN can stay on the air while the state proceeds with plans to convert it to an independent entity. The layoffs were set for Jan. 1.

Christie also signed legislation yesterday that outlines the process for the conversion of the state-operated network. Christie has said New Jersey can no longer afford to subsidize its own network.
