La Salle halts RMU's win streak

Alicia Cropper scored 14 of her 22 points in the first half as the Explorers shot 6-for-6 from the arc in taking a 45-27 halftime lead en route to snapping Robert Morris' 13-game home winning streak.

Micahya Owens scored 13 points, Slobhan Beslow added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Jasmine Alston chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds for La Salle (5-2), which registered its fifth straight win.

Anna Niki Stamolamprou had 20 points and Janee Brown added 12 for Robert Morris (2-4).

PROVIDENCE 51, VILLANOVA 49

Tori Rule scored on a running lay-up with 2 seconds remaining to lift the Friars to the comeback victory over the visiting Wildcats in the Big East opener for both teams.

Taylor Holeman scored 15 points and Caroline Coyer added 13 for VU (2-5).

Rule led the Friars (2-5) with 22 points. Alexis Harris added 15.

DELAWARE 69, TEMPLE 58

Erike Brown scored 23 points and Courtni Green added 19 to lead the Blue Hens (3-3).

Feyonda Fitzgerald had 15 points, Alliya Butts scored 19 and Erica Covile added 9 points and 10 rebounds for the Owls (3-4). Tanaya Atkinson grabbed 15 boards.
