Sydney Stipanovich shot 12-for-15 en route to 29 points as the Quakers stifled the visiting Retrievers.

Kara Bonenberger (14 points, 8 rebounds) was the only other player in double figures for Penn (5-4). Stipanovich added 14 rebounds (five offensive), three assists, two steals and a block.

Capree Garner (19 points), Liz McNaughton (16 points) and Taylor McCarley (11 assists) led UMBC (5-6)

The Quakers used a 10-1 run early in the first half to erase the Retrievers only lead (7-5) of the game. Penn led by as many as 16 in the second half.

VIRGINIA 72, DREXEL 66

Sarah Imovbioh scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as the Cavaliers held off the visiting Dragons.

Sarah Curran scored 15 points, Rachel Pearson had 12 and Jackie Schluth added 10 for DU (6-5).

Mikayla Venson (16 points), Faith Randolph (12) and Breyana Mason (11) chipped in for UVA (10-3).

SAINT JOSEPH'S 61, CSUN 54

Kathleen Fitzpatrick hot 4-for-8 from the arc en route to 20 points as SJU captured third place in the Hawk Classic at Hagan Arena.

Sarah Fairbanks and Natasha Cloud (8 assists) each scored 11 points for SJU (4-8).

Ashlee Guay had 12 points and 8 assists for CS Northridge (9-4).

Florida Gulf Coast topped Quinnipiac, 71-65, in the title game.

Kaneisha Atwater scored 23 points to lead FGC. Nikoline Ostergaard had 22 for Quinnipiac.
