Hawks rally to top the Owls

SAINT JOSEPH'S 70, TEMPLE 67

Chelsea Woods (12) and Ciara Andrews (10) combined to score 22 of the Hawks' 24 fourth-quarter points and spur the comeback win in the city series matchup at McGonigle Hall.

Andrews finished 27 points and six assists and Woods had 20 points and 12 rebounds for SJU (1-3), which trailed by 14 midway through the third period and by nine with less than nine minutes to go.

Feyonda Fitzgerald had 19 points and six assists for the Owls (2-3). Tanaya Atkinson scored 12 points and Alliya Butts added 10.

Sarah Fairbanks added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks.

VILLANOVA 65, LEHIGH 44

Caroline Coyer scored 21 points as the Wildcats breezed in the championship game of Lehigh's Christmas City Classic.

Adrianna Hahn had 13 points and Jordan Dillard added 10 for Villanova (4-1).

Kerry Kinek notched 15 points and Lexi Martins snagged 12 boards for the Mountain Hawks (6-1).

MONTANA 58, DREXEL 50

Kayleigh Valley scored 29 points to lead the Grizzlies in the third-place game of the Christmas City Classic at Lehigh.

Sarah Curran scored 13 points and Meghan Creighton added nine points and seven assists for Drexel (2-3), which never led.

McCalle Feller added 16 points for Montana (4-2). Valley added eight rebounds and shot 11-for-13 from the foul line.

MIAMI (FLA.) 86, LA SALLE 58

Michelle Woods scored 15 points and the Hurricanes (7-0) pulled away in the second period.

Micahya Owens scored 23 points and Ashanti Freeland added 14 the Explorers (0-6). Jasmine Alston had nine assists.
