Nuggets' Gallinari lost for season

Denver forward Danilo Gallinari had second surgery to repair ACL damage after operation last summer failed to solve the problem.

DANILO GALLINARI has undergone another operation to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season, the Denver Nuggets said.

It's a major setback for the shooting forward and the Nuggets, who had hoped to have him back in the lineup later this season.

Gallinari hasn't played since blowing out his knee in a game against Dallas last April 4.

General manager Tim Connelly said in a statement "it was recently determined that the procedure that Danilo underwent on his knee this past summer was insufficient."

Connelly said Gallinari underwent a second surgery yesterday morning.

He said Gallinari is expected to return to the team next season.
