Cowboys’ Cooper Rush jokes about his performance against the Eagles: ‘Maybe I don’t subconsciously like green’
Rush is 0-3 as a starter vs. the Eagles after Sunday’s loss.
The Eagles got a two-for-one deal in the midst of the holiday season — clinching the NFC East while embarrassing division rival Dallas in the process. The Birds dominated the Cowboys for the second time this season, 41-7, on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Cowboys were forced to play catch-up early after veteran quarterback Cooper Rush threw two interceptions in the first half: a pick-six on the opening drive and the other late in the second quarter. After the game, Rush discussed his struggles playing against the Eagles.

“For whatever reason this stadium, I don’t know, maybe I don’t subconsciously like green, I don’t know, something,” Rush told reporters. “It’s frustrating, especially when we’ve been playing well [winning four of their previous five games]. We haven’t been turning it over, giving our defense what they need. And you do that vs. a good football team, it’s very challenging.”
In their last meeting, the Eagles dominated the Cowboys, 34-6, at AT&T Stadium in Rush’s first start of the season replacing the injured Dak Prescott. Rush struggled, completing 13 of 23 passes for just 45 yards before he was pulled for Trey Lance in the third quarter.
For whatever reason — like subconsciously not liking the color green — Rush can’t seem to do well against Philly. There are only two games in Rush’s NFL career in which he has thrown multiple interceptions. Both were at Lincoln Financial Field. The first was in the Cowboys’ 26-17 loss to the Birds in 2022.
Since then, Rush has been playing well for a backup quarterback — except when it’s time to compete against the Eagles. After Sunday’s performance, he is 0-3 as a starter against the Birds.
