Eagles' Bill Davis looks for improvement on defense

When the Eagles hired Bill Davis, the immediate impulse was to check his record as a defensive coordinator. It was not promising. At two previous stops, Davis' defenses never stood among the best in the NFL, never were more than middling in major statistics, and mostly ranked near the bottom.
