Phila. schools have lots to do before class starts

With less than two weeks left before classes start, Philadelphia schools are hurriedly dealing with the consequences of the district's $220 million deficit, layoffs, the chronic shortages of books and supplies, and the shuttering of 24 schools, which forced reassignment of 9,000-plus students.
