Violinist Itzhak Perlman will join the Philadelphia Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop in a special concert April 9, the orchestra announced Monday.

On the program will be film-score excerpts from John Williams’ music for Sabrina and Schindler’s List, the love theme music by Ennio Morricone from Cinema Paradiso, and excerpts from Korngold’s score to The Adventures of Robin Hood.

Also on the program led by Alsop, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s music director, will be non-film works, including Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite.

Tickets for the one-night-only 7:30 p.m. concert at Verizon Hall will be more expensive than usual, ranging from $95-$175 (no $10 rush tickets). Proceeds will benefit the orchestra generally, and orchestra members are donating their services for the concert, a spokesperson said. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday at noon for what the orchestra describes as a “friends and family” group receiving an email offer; and Wednesday noon for the general public. www.philorch.org, 215-893-1999.
