The NFL confirmed Sunday night that Puerto Rican pop star Bad Bunny will perform at the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show, one of the most-watched live entertainment stages in the world.

The announcement was made during halftime of the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers on NBC. (The Cowboys pulled ahead of the Packers, 16-13, with a last-minute scoring surge before the half ended.)

NBC and the NFL teased the reveal in advance, promising a “big announcement” during the broadcast. Apple Music is the presenting sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show.

Speculation had grown that pop empress Taylor Swift — recently engaged to Chief’s tight end Travis Kelce — would take the stage. The show, though, is going to Bad Bunny, who’s currently the most streamed performer on Spotify.

Where is Super Bowl 2026?

Super Bowl LX (that’s Super Bowl 60) will be played on Feb. 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The venue is home to the San Francisco 49ers and last hosted the big game in 2016. NBC has the broadcast rights this season.

The Bay Area’s return to the spotlight means fans can expect a mix of California flair and global star power, with Bad Bunny leading the halftime performance.

Who is Bad Bunny?

Bad Bunny isn’t new to the NFL stage; he appeared as a guest during the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in 2020 alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. But this will be his first time as the headliner. He hasn’t played Levi’s Stadium before.

Earlier this year, Bad Bunny left the U.S. off his world tour schedule, citing concerns about ICE raids at large events. That made headlines, and his decision to headline the Super Bowl plants him back on one of the biggest U.S. stages.

Super Bowl halftime is a career milestone for the performer — artists often see streaming spikes, sold-out tours, and lasting cultural buzz — and a huge ratings bump for the game, with more than 100 million viewers tuning in just for the performance.

The Philadelphia Eagles — now 4-0 on the season after knocking off the Buccaneers Sunday afternoon — are the defending Super Bowl Champions, besting the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 last February.

Kendrick Lamar was the performer for the mid-game show.
