Madonna’s new album Madame X is coming out on June 14, and the enduring pop star is going out on a theaters-only tour that will include multiple date at big city venues, including the Met Philadelphia.
But when? The tour is scheduled to begin with a seven show run at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn on Sept. 12, and it includes four shows at the Chicago Theater in October and five at The Wiltern in Los Angeles in November.
Those are the only firm dates so far, but it has also been announced that the Madame X tour will also play Las Vegas, Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, London, Paris and Lisbon, where the enduring 1980s star and pop innovator has been living in recent years.
So when is she coming to The Met? That information will be shared “soon.” In the meantime, the ticket selling scheme will work this way: Up until this Friday at noon, fans can request tickets at madonna.livenation.com for New York, Chicago and L.A.
Lucky lottery winners who get to buy them will know who they are within a week. Presumably ducat dispersement for the Met dates will work the same way.
Madonna has so far release two songs from the said-to-be Latin music inspired Madame X, and three more are due out before the album’s release, including collaborations with rappers Quavo of Migos and Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd.
At the Billboard Music Awards this month, Madonna performed “Medellin” with Colombian singer Maluma. If her performance there is any indication of what the Madame X tour holds in store, it could involve seeing Madonna both in the flesh and in hologram form. She dances with several different versions of herself, from several different eras in the clip below.
