Don’t mess with Santa in ‘Violent Night,’ and two other new films to catch this week

‘Violent Night’

An unusual psychological horror film written and directed by Nikyatu Jusu. With Michele Monaghan. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Dec. 2, in theaters.)

‘The Inspection’

The true story of a young, gay Black man, with no life options, who enlists in the Marines. There he battles for acceptance, and ultimately finds camaraderie. Starring Jeremy Pope, Gabrielle Union, and Bokeem Woodbine. Written and directed by Elegance Bratton, based on his own story. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Dec. 2, in theaters.)
