‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and two other new films to see this week

A documentary on Black cinema, childhood memories of summer vacations, and a new Black Panther movie.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

After the death of King T’Challa, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), and others must protect Wakanda from the outside world. Cowritten by and directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Black Panther). With Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Tenoch Huerta. (Rated PG-13. Premieres Friday, Nov. 11, in theaters.)

A woman tries to come to grips with the man her father was, as she ponders the vacation they took together when she was just a girl. Starring Paul Mescal as the dad and Frankie Corio as young Sophie. Written and directed by Charlotte Wells. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Nov. 11, in theaters.)

‘Is That Black Enough for You?!?’

The documentary Is That Black Enough for You?!? looks at the history of Black cinema from the silent film era until today, with a focus on the movies of the 1970s. Written and directed by Elvis Mitchell. Featuring interviews with Harry Belafonte, Margaret Avery, Samuel L. Jackson, Billy Dee Williams, and more. (Rated R. Premieres Friday, Nov. 11, on Netflix.)
