‘Game of Thrones’ forgot a coffee cup in Sunday’s episode. To make HBO feel better, we added a few to some famous scenes.

HBO admitted their mistake, but wouldn't 'Mad Men,' 'Forrest Gump,' and 'Star Wars' been better with a few extra coffee cups?

Game of Thrones shook the internet last night, but it wasn’t because of dragons, death or epic battles. Rather, the internet shaking was due a cup of coffee.

While only visible for a few seconds, the wildly out of place Starbucks — you could see it during the battle celebration scenes — ripped fans from their world of medieval fantasy. We’ve got to ask: No one saw it before the episode aired? According to Game of Thrones executive producer Bernie Caulfield, the answer is no. No one working on one of the most expensive shows on television noticed this out of place prop. HBO even issued a statement over the brewhaha, “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

The colossal mess up not only slipped past the eyes of the production team, but also the post-production team. According to Vice, removing the cup during editing would have been relatively easy. Editing a cup into a scene can be fairly easy as well. So we tried it.
