Woman shot during custody exchange

A 49-year-old woman was shot and injured Monday during a custody exchange between former companions, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Media, who are investigating the incident as an attempted homicide. The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m.

A 49-year-old woman was shot and injured Monday during a custody exchange between former companions, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Media, who are investigating the incident as an attempted homicide. The shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. in Middletown Township, Delaware County. State police said a 41-year-old woman from Media fired several shots at the victim, who is from Wynnewood, through the front windshield of the car she was driving. An 11-year-old boy was in the front passenger seat at the time, and a 9-year-old girl was standing outside the vehicle, police said. The victim drove herself to Riddle Memorial Hospital and was transferred to Crozier Chester Medical Center, where she was still being treated.
