UPPER DARBY Christmas is nearly upon us, and so are the holiday events.

The Upper Darby Township tree lighting and holiday concert are scheduled for Sunday, beginning at 3 p.m. with the tree lighting. The concert is set for 4:20 p.m. at the Tower Theater, 19 South 69th Street. The event is open to the public.

There will be performances by the Aronimink Singers, Beverly Hills Middle School Orchestra, the Bywood Buddies, the Girls Ensemble and Concert Signers from Drexel Hill Middle School, the Garrettford Singers and other groups.

In Chester, the Mayor's annual seniors holiday party for residents 62 years or older is set for Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Willie Mae Leake Center on 701 Yarnall Street. There will be light entertainment and food, and vendors will be available for Christmas shopping. The event is already sold out, according to the mayor's office.
