A 69-year-old woman was found stabbed to death Monday night in her apartment in the city's Germantown section, police said.
Shortly after 9 p.m., police were called to the 5500 block of Wayne Avenue, where the woman's roommate had discovered the victim's body in the kitchen of the second-floor apartment, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. She had sustained stab wounds to her neck and chest.
"There was a knife embedded in her neck," Small said.
Medics pronounced her dead at 9:15 p.m. A motive for the attack was unknown, but it was a violent struggle with blood splattered in several rooms, Small said. - Robert Moran
