The snow is part of a quick moving system that has not intensified to the level of a storm.

It is expected to start falling in the western suburbs after 4 p.m. and leave the area before 11 p.m., according to the NWS.

A coastal storm forecast for Wednesday night is expected to bring more snow before turning into rain early Thursday, the weather service says.
