Man, 75, killed crossing Bustleton Avenue

A 75-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross Bustleton Avenue near Solly Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday night.

A 75-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross Bustleton Avenue near Solly Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday night.

Police said the 44-year-old driver of a 2012 Ford F-250 truck was traveling southbound in the 8100 block of Bustleton. The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and standing in the street when he was struck.

Police said he was transported to Aria Health-Torresdale Campus and pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m. The driver, whom police did not identify, remained at the scene.

The victim's name was not released pending notification of family.
