Cheltenham Township police and the FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday morning in Glenside.
Police said two men entered the Conestoga Bank at 12 W. Glenside Ave. about 11:30 a.m. One man, armed with a handgun, walked a bank employee into the vault, while the other man went behind the teller station and took money from each teller, police said.
A customer then entered the bank and, seeing the robbers, left and called police. The two robbers fled, with an undisclosed amount of cash, in a black 1990s Nissan Maxima.
Police said both robbers were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black jeans. The Maxima's license plate had JM as the first two letters and 29 as the first two numbers. - Vernon Clark
