Whitpain police seek alleged bank robber
WHITPAIN The FBI and Whitpain Township police are searching for a man suspected of robbing the Tompkins VIST Bank in Centre Square, Montgomery County.
WHITPAIN The FBI and Whitpain Township police are searching for a man suspected of robbing the Tompkins VIST Bank in Centre Square, Montgomery County.
The robbery occurred Wednesday morning at 8:15 a.m., and the suspect is described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, 6-foot-1, and slim with a small pot belly.
The suspect allegedly entered the bank branch, approached the teller, and displayed a handgun before fleeing the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was wearing a dark blue hooded coat, a light colored dress shirt, and a bandana or mask, according to a FBI press release.
Those with information about the robbery or suspect are asked to call the FBI at 215-641-8910 or the Whitpain Township Police Department at 610-279-9033. Tips can remain anonymous, and a reward is possible, the FBI said.
