A body wrapped in a red bedsheet was found in an alley Thursday evening in North Philadelphia, police said.

Shortly after 6 p.m., police received calls about a body in the alley between the 2500 blocks of North 11th and Warnock Streets, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. The body was wrapped from head to ankles, with the feet exposed. The bedsheet was tightly secured with duct tape.

Because the body was covered, it was not known whether the victim was male or female, but the size suggested a young adult or teen, Small said. - Robert Moran
