Boy, 12, and man shot in Crescentville

A 12-year-old boy and a man were wounded in a shooting Friday night in the city's Crescentville section, police said.

About 9:05 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 500 block of Van Kirk Street near Rising Sun Avenue, police said. The boy was shot in the left leg and was taken by a medic unit to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he was listed in stable condition.

The 21-year-old man was shot in the upper right chest and was rushed by police to Einstein Medical Center, where he was reported in critical but stable condition. No arrest was reported. - Robert Moran
