Police: Boy, 8, shot on bike in Chesco

NORTH COVENTRY TWP. An 8-year-old boy was shot Friday afternoon while riding his bicycle in this Chester County town, police said.

The child, whose name police did not release, was shot and wounded in his leg around 5 p.m., while riding his bike after school. He was flown to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was in stable condition.

No arrests had been announced by Friday evening. - Mike Newall
