Friday’s South Jersey roundup: Cinnaminson’s Julia Charest records 500th career save in win over Cherry Hill East
Julia Charest entered the Cinnaminson girls' lacrosse record books on Friday.

Julia Charest had 12 saves, including the 500th of her career, to help the Cinnaminson girls’ lacrosse team top Cherry Hill East, 18-8, on Friday. She’s the only player in school history to accomplish that milestone. Caroline Bailey tallied six goals and four assists. Veronica Campbell and Grace Frasso each had hat tricks.
Moorestown Friends lost to Germantown Friends, 16-15, in the semifinals of the Friends Schools League playoffs. Bella Runyan scored six goals and Meghan Roberts had four for the Foxes.
Ashley Campo recorded five goals and four assists to lead Haddonfield past Notre Dame, 16-7. Caroline Beckett had five goals and two assists and Gabi Connor tallied two goals and five assists.
Maddy Orefice scored her 100th career goal in Cherry Hill West’s 19-5 victory over Kingsway. The Lions won clinched the Olympic Conference’s Patriot division with the win.
Baseball
Anthony Rullo and Stephen Przychowicz each hit doubles as Pennsauken defeated Holy Cross, 9-2. Josh Meilli had three hits and one RBI and Eobert Bonifacio added four RBIs.
Nate Hitchner, Ben Kates, Robert Parkell and Bob Woodruff had a double and two RBIs apiece to lead Woodstown past Clayton, 15-3. Chase Swain hit a double.
Mike Decker went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs to help Clearview beat Triton, 7-1. Brandon Drapeau, Cole Fowler and Ian Petrutz each hit one homer.
Kyle Goodman and Kyle Campbell had two RBIs apiece in Mainland’s 10-0 victory over Middle Township.
Cinnaminson lost to Robbinsville, 6-2. Cam Horsley hit a homer and had two RBIs for the Pirates.
Softball
Madison Melvin set a program record with 126 career hits in Seneca’s 13-3 victory over Bishop Eustace. She passed Chelsea Palumbo’s record of 124 hits. Melvin will play softball at West Chester University next season. Emily Pencer had 14 strikeouts, earned the win on the mound and had four RBIs. Madi Walker went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Burlington City topped Pennsauken, 15-2, thanks to doubles from Brookelyn Parker and Nicole Makin.
Emily MacGibeny went 3-for-6 with a homer and five RBIs to help Paul VI down Cherry Hill West, 19-9. Alexa Caulder had four hits and four RBIs.
Madison Rios recorded her 100th career hit and went 2-for-3 with a triple, double and one RBI as Doane Academy edged LEAP Academy Charter, 5-2. Diana Fine hit a home run and Ciera Yackel earned the win with 10 strikeouts.
Boys’ Lacrosse
John Ipri’s seven goals led Delran past Moorestown Friends, 18-4. Michael Ipri had four goals and Sean McHugh notched a hat trick.
Rancocas Valley lost to West Windsor-Plainsboro South, 12-9. Alex Everard and Shane Langefield each scored three goals apiece for the Red Devils.
John Tomes and Michael Volpe both recorded hat tricks as Camden Catholic edged Williamstown, 11-10, in overtime. Patrick Miller and Brett Ziegler added two goals apiece.
