Wednesday’s South Jersey roundup: Evan Lloyd’s game-winning hit helps Holy Cross baseball top Riverside

Evan Lloyd had a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to help the Holy Cross baseball team beat Riverside, 8-7, on Wednesday. He went 2-for-2 with one double and three RBIs. Lloyd McLaughlin hit a triple, and Matt Paolini and Jon Braun had one double apiece.

Xander Burbune had a double and two RBIs as Pennsauken defeated Burlington Township, 8-2. Anthony Rullo went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Eduard Martinez doubled.

Chris Wade hit two doubles in Bordentown’s 6-4 victory over New Egypt. Jack Parker had two RBIs and Johnny Schroeder hit a double.

Cade Hunter went 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs to lead Lenape past Southern Almance, 13-4. Brian Hoverson had three hits, including a double, and one RBI. Kaleb Potts hit a triple, and Joe Anastasio and Ayden Edwards each had doubles.

Paul VI edged Seneca, 3-2, thanks to one RBI apiece from Zach Cerveny and John Ormsby. Aiden Weitzel earned the win with three strikeouts.

Jon Hutcher recorded nine strikeouts in five innings as Pitman topped Salem, 13-2. Jeff Spaeth had three RBIs.

Frankie Romond hit a double and Bryce Mangene had one RBI to help Rancocas Valley down Eastern, 7-6.

Adam Schubert hit a homer and a double in Moorestown’s 8-2 win over Northern Burlington. Zach Boren, Robert Damerjian and Adam Robinson each hit doubles.

Nelson Martinez went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead Bridgeton past Penns Grove, 12-2. Justin Garner hit a triple and Camaron Dunkle hit two doubles.

Absegami downed Atlantic City, 18-3, behind Ray Lewis’ triple and four RBIs. Billy Wheatley had three RBIs, and Nick Ardente, Sam Muniz and Adrian Ramos each added two RBIs. The Braves had 15 hits.

Connor Coolahan hit a triple and a double as Shawnee defeated Cherryville, 7-4. Nate Liedtka had a double.

Brandon Drapeau had 15 strikeouts to help Clearview beat Cumberland, 8-0. Eric Weiss went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Softball

Brooke Hampton had 14 strikeouts to lead Westampton Tech past Cinnaminson, 6-0. Jillian Reed went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Ailah Charles and Aeryn Gilmore each went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

McKendamin Champion had four strikeouts in Paul VI’s 9-1 victory over Bishop Eustace.

Jenna Patterson went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double as Clearview topped Cumberland, 10-0. Devon Ellixson had eight strikeouts in six innings to earn the win.

Shawnee edged Millville, 3-1, thanks to Julia Cooker’s offensive performance. She had two doubles, one run scored and one RBI. Sam Volpe went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Mackenzie Fitzpatrick hit a triple and had two RBIs to help Burlington Township beat Montgomery, 5-0. Anaya Hunte had a double and two RBIs.

April Hartman and Paige Wilson had three RBIs apiece as Pennsville defeated Clayton, 12-2. Caroline Zullo had two RBIs and Jade Hassler hit a triple and had one RBI.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Alison Bailey, Caroline Bailey, Veronica Campbell and Grace Frasso scored two goals apiece as Cinnaminson downed Maple Shade, 15-2.
