La Salle doesn’t care if you doubt its basketball team’s prowess.

The Explorers (17-0, 10-0) are content to just keep stacking wins against the Catholic League’s elite.

Thursday night, La Salle overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to best visiting Bonner-Prendergast, 64-59, and remain undefeated atop the PCL.

“I just say we got to make everybody believers,” said senior guard Titus Beard. “We just have to stay humble, keep working hard, and continue to produce like we’ve been.”

Ample production came from senior guard Allen Powell, who finished with 23 points. Fellow senior Konrad Kiszka added 14 more with seven rebounds and four assists.

Despite Isaiah Wong’s early foul troubles, the Friars (13-2, 7-2) took control at the start, thanks in part to the team’s 6-for-6 first-half shooting from behind the three-point line.

In the second half, however, the Friars cooled, shooting just 1 of 5 from three-point range.

The Explorers defense on Wong, the dynamic Miami recruit, also swarmed.

On offense, La Salle shared the ball with aplomb, finishing with 14 assists on 22 made field goals.

Wong finished with 13 points. He scored five in the first frame before two early fouls sent him to the bench until halftime.

Chris Haynes added 11 points, all in the first half, and didn’t even attempt a shot in the second.
