Tuesday’s Southeastern Pa. roundup: Ellie Mueller’s career day helps Radnor girls’ basketball qualify for states

Ellie Mueller scored a career-high 29 points points and eclipsed the career 1,000-point mark to lead the Radnor girls’ basketball team past West Chester East, 58-52, in the District 1 Class 5A playbacks on Tuesday.
The victory helped the Raiders qualify for states for the fourth time in six years. Holly Holtsberg recorded a double-double with 11 rebounds and 11 blocks. She also had four points. Radnor will play Pope John Paul II in the next round on Friday.
Elise Sylvester scored 16 points and went 10 for 10 at the free throw line as Pope John Paul II beat Harriton, 41-32, to advance in the playbacks tourney. Kallan Bustynowicz notched 7 points and 11 rebounds.

Jackie Vargas scored 11 points in Upper Dublin’s 44-35 victory over Downingtown East in the District 1 Class 6A playbacks. Sarah Eskew, Kara Grebe and Jess Polin scored eight points apiece.
Boys’ Basketball
Jared Corley recorded 10 points, including two free throws in overtime to gain the lead, to lift the Boys’ Latin basketball team past Lincoln, 67-64, in the Public League 6A championship. Steve Pierce scored 16 points and Amir Mims added 15.
The Warriors will play Roman Catholic in the District 12 Class 6A championship on Friday at Southern High.

Andrew King tallied 21 points to help Downingtown East top Conestoga, 61-54, in the District 1 Class 6A playbacks. Tariq Kalim scored 15 points and Dylan Rowe had 11.
