Megan Burns blasted a walk-off two-run home run Friday to lead the Lansdale Catholic softball team past Bonner-Prendergast, 6-4, in the Catholic League quarterfinals. Mary Picozzi belted a solo homer in the sixth inning as the Crusaders trailed 4-1 earlier in the game. Lansdale will play St. Hubert on Monday at La Salle University.

Jordan Frye went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as St. Hubert upended Archbishop Carroll, 5-1. Lindsey Davies tossed a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and added a double of her own. The Bambies will play Lansdale Catholic on Monday at La Salle University.


Grace Jackson allowed two hits and struck out seven in five innings in Notre Dame’s 14-1 win over Friends Select in the PAISAA quarterfinals. Caroline Adams and Marissa Arundi each doubled for the Irish whole Sophia Haub blasted a home run. Notre Dame will play Springside Chestnut Hill.

In other quarterfinals action, Anastasia Lewis doubled and tripled as Penn Charter rolled past Perkiomen School, 22-3. Maddie Solow tripled, homered, and got the win for the Quakers, who will play the winner of Baldwin and Hill School on Tuesday.

Katie Reagan went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs as Springside Chestnut Hill downed Shipley, 9-4. Steph DeAngelis added three hits and scored three runs while Sam Klug got the win with seven strikeouts. The Blue Devils will play Notre Dame on Tuesday.


Damian Hammon smacked the go-ahead RBI double in the visiting eighth as GAMP team knocked off Lincoln, 5-4, in the Public League third round. Jordan Bingham, Edgardo Caraballo, and Jaden Kelly each doubled in support of Eric Lipson, who got the win on the mound. The Pioneers will play the winner of Frankford on Monday. Frankford beat Prep Charter, 15-0, in three innings.

In other third round action, Fred O’Rourke struck out 16 in six innings and threw his second straight no-hitter as Constitution cruised past String Theory, 12-0. O’Rourke also doubled along with Elias Meredith, Phillip Jacolow, and Harold Garcia. The Generals will play the winner of Central and Edison on Monday.

Bryan Rodriguez-Figueroa lashed a double to support Miguel Figueroa, who also doubled, as Esperanza defeated Boys’ Latin, 7-2. The Toros will play the winner of Franklin Towne Charter and Kensington.


Lonnie White doubled, homered, and drove in five runs as Malvern Prep defeated Episcopal Academy, 13-0. Chris Newell added a double, a home run, and three RBIs for the Friars.


Jo Jo Kaba hit the go-ahead RBI single in the visiting seventh to lift Germantown Friends over Father Judge, 5-4. Alex Browne had three hits for the Patriots.


Pat Elliott went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs as Springside Chestnut Hill downed Penn Charter, 5-0, to win the Inter-Ac title. John Bautista hit a double for the Blue Devils while Carter Davis pitched a complete game shutout.

Boys’ Lacrosse

Zac Coar scored four goals as La Salle clinched the Catholic League title with a 9-1 triumph over St. Joseph’s Prep. Shane Osborne, Grant Pinto, Kyle Cullen, Dan Mallee, and Mason Lazasz each contributed a goal for the Explorers, who have won 23 of the last 27 Catholic League titles, including four straight.

Girls’ Lacrosse

Natalie Harrity scored three goals, including the game-winner with two minutes left, as Germantown Friends topped Baldwin, 13-12, in the PAISAA first round. Jane MacRae scored five goals for the Tigers, who will travel to Agnes Irwin on Saturday.
