Montco teen dies in robbery

WEST POTTSGROVE - A West Pottsgrove Township teenager was fatally wounded Sunday after he was taken from his home at gunpoint during a robbery attempt, authorities said.

WEST POTTSGROVE - A West Pottsgrove Township teenager was fatally wounded Sunday after he was taken from his home at gunpoint during a robbery attempt, authorities said.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office identified the victim as Kareem Ali Borowy, 19, of the 1200 block of Manatwany Street.

Just after 2 p.m., West Pottsgrove police responded to a report of a home invasion. Several people with handguns reportedly had entered the house and demanded money from the occupants.

The house was not chosen randomly, said investigators, who added Sunday night they had determined Borowy was the target.

Nearly 30 minutes later, a driver in the 2100 block of Sanatoga Station Road in Lower Pottsgrove saw Borowy lying on the side of the road, shouting and waving for help.

An ambulance crew arrived but could not save Borowy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The D.A.'s Office and police from both townships are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Pottsgrove police at 610-323-2090, Lower Pottsgrove police at 610-326-1508, or the Montgomery County Detective Bureau at 610-278-3368.
