Authorities in Bucks County are searching for a couple who turned in a handgun they found while artifacting in 2011 because police have determined the weapon may be connected to a 2006 murder.

According to a press release from the District Attorney's Office, the couple turned in the .22 caliber Smith and Wesson on November 1, 2011 to officials in Lower Windsor Township, York County, after they found it near Kline's Run Park.

Investigators believe the gun may be linked to the 2006 Bristol Township killing of 30-year-old Kevin Battista. No one has been convicted in that case, although a Philadelphia man, Ckaron Handy, was charged in 2012 and is awaiting trial.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bristol Township detective Timothy Fuhrmann at 267-812-3049 or to e-mail BucksDA@co.bucks.pa.us.
