SEPTA police are searching for a young man who punched a 60-year-old Market-Frankford Line passenger on the 15th Street Station platform Monday afternoon.

SEPTA police are searching for a young man who punched a 60-year-old Market-Frankford Line passenger on the 15th Street Station platform Monday afternoon.

Thomas J. Nestel III, chief of SEPTA police, said Tuesday that the older man had stepped on the foot of a teenager on a car bound for Center City.

A friend of the teen confronted the older man, and when he exited at 15th Street, a group of teens surrounded him on the platform. The man was hit in the face and fell. He suffered a broken jaw and a wound that required stitches, Nestel said.

Anyone with information is asked to call SEPTA police at 215-580-8111. Video of the attack can be viewed at www.pdhilly.com/philly/news/Attack_on_SEPTA_rider_caught_on_video.html - Philly.com
