Charter-fraud jury gets verdict instructions

The federal judge in Dorothy June Brown’s $6.7 million charter-school fraud trial on Wednesday gave the jury — which finished its fourth full day of deliberations without reaching a verdict — instructions on a partial verdict.

U.S. District Court Judge R. Barclay Surrick told jurors that even though they had reached agreement on some of the charges, they should try to reach unanimity on all 63 counts. The panel will resume deliberations Thursday.
