Teen charged after SUV hit by train

BENSALEM A 17-year-old boy was arrested Monday after leaving an SUV that was accidentally stuck on railroad tracks, which led to its being struck by a SEPTA train last month, police said.

BENSALEM A 17-year-old boy was arrested Monday after leaving an SUV that was accidentally stuck on railroad tracks, which led to its being struck by a SEPTA train last month, police said.

The teen surrendered to transit police, and was charged with risking a catastrophe and other offenses after leaving the SUV on the tracks April 25 near the Neshaminy station in Bensalem, said SEPTA Police Chief Thomas J. Nestel III. No one was hurt in the accident. The teen was identified through a mobile phone found at the scene.
