DOYLESTOWN - Three churches in Bucks County have opened their doors to the homeless this week as nighttime temperatures are expected to fall into the teens.
DOYLESTOWN - Three churches in Bucks County have opened their doors to the homeless this week as nighttime temperatures are expected to fall into the teens.
The county issued a "code blue" declaration Tuesday, prompting the churches to activate their emergency shelters from Tuesday night through Friday morning. The temperature is projected to drop to its lowest point this week, at 12 degrees, on Thursday night.
The churches that have opened their doors are Emmaus Road Lutheran on Oxford Valley Road in Levittown, Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian on Meeting House Road in Warminster, and West Swamp Mennonite on Allentown Road in Quakertown. For more information, call the homeless hotline at 1-800-810-4434.
