A Gloucester County accountant was charged Friday with stealing $750,000 from a disabled Clarksboro client.

Robynn Dumont, who operates Capital Business Services and RKL Group on Egg Harbor Road in the Sewell section of Washington Township, was charged with theft by failure to make proper disposition. She allegedly stole money from an 86-year-old woman who family members say suffers from dementia.

Dumont, 52, of the 900 block of State Street in Trenton, posted $50,000 bail after surrendering to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, which investigated the matter.

A prosecutor's spokesman said the theft allegedly occurred through Dumont's RKL Group between November 2011 and February 2012. Dumont's name appeared on the June 2013 ballot as a Democratic candidate for a seat on the Hamilton Township Council in Mercer County but she withdrew from the race after the allegations surfaced in stories published by NJ.com. She could not be reached for comment.

Any other clients with concerns about their dealings with Dumont's businesses are asked to contact Detective Bryn Wilden at 856-384-5610.
