College students help low-income people file tax returns

CAMDEN College students helped hundreds of New Jersey residents file tax returns this year, with Rutgers-Camden law students helping file claims worth more than $450,000.

CAMDEN College students helped hundreds of New Jersey residents file tax returns this year, with Rutgers-Camden law students helping file claims worth more than $450,000.

The IRS-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program brings together students and faculty to assist low-income families in filing their returns. Volunteers are provided training before helping participants file for free.

Rowan University also participated in the program.
