A drunk driver hit and killed a man in the Somerton section of the city early Saturday morning, police said.

The driver was southbound on Roosevelt Boulevard at the time of the accident, around 12:30 a.m. Police said the driver was in the far right lane between Red Lion and Woodhaven Roads when he struck a 40-year-old man walking along the curb.
The pedestrian, trapped under the car, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:36 a.m. His identity was not released Saturday morning, pending family notification.
Police arrested the driver, a 55-year-old man, on a charge of DUI. His identity was also not released Saturday morning.
