Bucks DA warns of health risk from prostitute with HIV
Mark Andrew Kernan, 57, was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges of prostitution and related offenses.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub on Wednesday warned of a public health risk because a 57-year-old Yardley man allegedly committed acts of prostitution while knowing he had HIV.
Mark Andrew Kernan, of the 1400 block of Yardley Commons, was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges of prostitution, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamines, and criminal use of a communication facility.
Weintraub said investigators believed Kernan has used his residence for prostitution since at least December 2017. Police said Kernan, formerly of Philadelphia, told them that he knew he was HIV positive. It was unclear how long he has been living with HIV, Weintraub said.
“This is a public health issue. We are not making morality judgments here,” Weintraub said in a statement. “If you’ve had sexual contact with this man, seek a medical evaluation immediately.”
