A 21-year-old Camden County man has been charged with causing a car crash that killed a 62-year-old woman late last year, authorities said Thursday.

Ryan Aspinall of Voorhees was charged Monday with one count of second-degree death by auto, said acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi in a news release.

Aspinall was driving an Acura RDX on Evesham Road around 3 p.m. on Nov. 16 when the car struck a Chevrolet Malibu that was exiting a parking lot, authorities said. The driver of the Malibu, Rita Mohr of Clementon, was taken to a hospital and later died.

Witnesses told police that Aspinall was driving recklessly just before the crash and investigators determined that he was driving at an excessive speed, Mayer and Bordi said.

Aspinall surrendered to authorities Wednesday.

He was processed on a summons and released with conditions pending further court proceedings, Mayer and Bordi said.
