A 48-year-old Pemberton Township man was shot to death and then buried in the Pine Barrens by an acquaintance who has been charged with first-degree murder, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said Tuesday.

Charles McGee, 55, also of Pemberton, was arrested Monday by a U.S. Marshals task force on charges that he killed William Cline Jr., Coffina said.

Cline was reported missing last week and his grave was discovered on Saturday by someone riding a motorcycle in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest near Whitesbog Village, Coffina said.

Burlington County Medical Examiner Ian Hood performed an autopsy and determined that Cline was shot in the back of the neck.
