Pa. troopers shoot, wound man in Chesco confrontation
Jeremy Oatman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot by two troopers sometime after 1 a.m. in West Nottingham.

A 42-year-old Lancaster man was shot by Pennsylvania state troopers when he allegedly pointed a BB gun at them after a high-speed chase in Chester County early Friday.
Jeremy Oatman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after he was shot repeatedly by two troopers sometime after 1 a.m. in West Nottingham, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Chester County Detectives, the investigative arm of the prosecutor’s office, was conducting an investigation of the shooting to determine if it was justified.
Around 1 a.m., Oatman was driving a white van with an allegedly nonfunctioning rear brake light when he was pulled over by the troopers in Oxford Borough. With the troopers standing outside his van, Oatman reportedly drove off. The District Attorney’s Office said the owner of the van had an open criminal warrant, but did not specify Oatman as that owner.
The pursuit ended when the van struck an embankment at a CVS in West Nottingham, officials said. Oatman jumped out of the van and pointed the BB gun at the troopers, who responded by firing. No one else was hurt.
