A Camden man was arrested Sunday in connection with a fatal stabbing in that city Friday morning, police said.

Daeshon Davis, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

Davis is accused of killing Ryan Harter, 26, of Gloucester City, whose body, stabbed multiple times, was found on the 1000 block of South Fifth Street just before 11 a.m. Friday. It was unclear what motivated the attack.

Davis was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, and was being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.
