Pizza delivery driver robbed of food, cash outside Crescentville home

A worker from Papa Nick's Pizza attempting to deliver an order to a home on Foulkroud Street in Crescentville was instead greeted by two men who robbed him of his cash and food.

A pizza shop worker attempting to deliver an order to a Crescentville home early Sunday was instead greeted by two men who robbed him of his cash and food.

The victim, a 34-year-old driver for Papa Nick's Pizza in Olney, went to the home on the 600 block of Foulkrod Street around 12:15 a.m. and asked two men sitting on the front steps if they'd ordered pizza, police said.

One of the men asked how much the total was, and the second pulled out a handgun and demanded the driver's money, according to investigators.

The men took $120 in cash, a cell phone, and the food order – a pizza, cheesesteak and fries valued at $19.20, police said.

One of them allegedly struck the driver in the back of his head with the gun as he got back into his vehicle.

The deliveryman was then able to speed off and drove back to Papa Nick's, at 199 W. Godfrey Ave., where he called police.

Investigators checked the area surrounding the 600 block of Foulkrod Street but were unable to find the suspects.

They are described as two 6-foot, 180-pound black men between the ages of 25 and 30. One was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, camouflage pants, and a baseball hat; the second was wearing a white T-shirt and carrying a black semiautomatic handgun, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Philadelphia police.
